Around-town services
Brush pick-up
The first week of each month, year-round. Limbs no longer than 8 feet or heavier than 60 lbs, placed at the edge of the road, from that property. Contractors haul their own brush.
Property taxes
Tax notices mail the first of October and become delinquent March 1, with penalty and interest accruing at 2% monthly. Tax relief is available for seniors (65+), disabled persons, disabled veterans, and their widow(er)s — household income limits apply. Ask at Town Hall, (931) 389-6144.
Garbage
Town-run pickup ended July 1, 2021. The Bedford County Convenience Center at 206 Sunset Blvd. is free: Mon & Fri 6–5, Wed 6–10 & 1–5, Sat 6–4 · (931) 389-6864. Private haulers also serve town:

Animal control
Tennessee law doesn't allow dogs to run at large. Strays may be taken to Bedford County Animal Control, 205 Lane Parkway, Shelbyville. Adoptions are available; current policy restricts city residents from dropping off animals.
