Police Department
The Wartrace Police Department patrols Wartrace and its Bedford County neighbors Normandy and Bell Buckle.
Municipal traffic court is held at Town Hall every other month — see City Court for schedules and fees.

Fire Department
The Wartrace Volunteer Fire Department covers the town and neighboring areas from two stations — one on each side of the railroad tracks.
Free smoke detectors:if you need a smoke detector and can't afford one, contact Town Hall — the fire department will install it for you.
Severe weather
Storm shelter
The Wartrace Methodist Church at 305 Main Street Eastserves as the town's storm shelter. During a severe storm warning, Emergency Management aims to open it 30 minutes ahead. Openings are announced on local radio WLIJ 1580 AM.
